Create your own stuffable pets at home by designing them online, and printing them on Printies Fabric sheets using just your inkjet printer! On MyPrinties.com you select a shape and start designing using dozens of easy to use art tools. When your pet looks exactly how you want it, you can print it out on a Printies Fabric sheet. These pre-sewn, patent pending sheets are made of 100% soft cotton but work just like paper in any inkjet printer. After printing out your design on the front and back, you tear out your pet from the sheet. Use the opening at the bottom to stuff and seal it shut with a pair of shoes.  The Poor Pets Clothes Just Shrunk! January 15, 2010

I was quite excited when I heard about these. They seemed like they would be perfect for a rainy afternoon and that they would nice and relaxing. I was wrong... for starters I HATED the application for these, the choices were very limited and what was available never fit. When I tried to get the eyes to fit my dog they ended up shrinking. The clothes are impossible to get to fit and I was unable to put any clothes on. But why the 3-star rating then? I have to admit that the finished product was nice and I did not have any problems printing the cotton through my Canon MultiPASS MP390, even though it is quite old.

I chose this based on a rec from Amazon and based on the fact that my girls *love* webkinz, build a bear and the like. Luckily, we upgraded the kids PC this year so it can handle the web downloads. Pretty easy once we got past registration - the SW requires some adobe flash or something which can be tricky if you have your kids using the "old" PC.
The prints turned out great and I will buy a refill pack. Good toy for the girls to play with when they have playdates.
Hopefully I can find refills locally, but if not, Amazon Prime will come through for me :)

This is a fantastic idea for a toy, and my 7 year old daughter had a blast designing her animal! But be prepared to possibly spend an hour printing out one animal! Our printer (a Canon MP470) consistently thought the paper was jamming the printer because of the fabric that is attached to the paper. It was frustrating, but the finished product was really cute!

The online wars continue and Printies is the newest iteration of online entertainment for kids.
How does it work?
Once you receive the package you are instructed to go to their website, setup a free account, and download the Printies application onto you computer. The application is what does the magic. Your child basically uses the software to create a new PET, print it out on a test sheet (included) and then ultimately print it out on the fabric stencils that are included. Once printed you stuff the fabric stencils with the stuffing material included and attach the entire body to a plastic pair of feet...voila your Printies is created.
