In a Nutshell: Stimulating game lets girls live the fabulous life of the Bratz At a Glance | At a Glance Ages: 8 and up Requires: 4 AA and 2 AAA batteries (not included); SD card for additional memory; and television | | | Game Design and Setup This plug-and-play TV game creates a 3-D version of the Bratz world. Game players travel to cool places, meet new friends, design outfits, and much more. It plugs easily into the television using AV cables at the back. Parents must first install four AA and two AAA batteries (not included) before they plug it into the television. After installing the batteries and hooking it up, game setup is simple and starts with the creation of a Bratz character. Bratz Life also features user-created custom soundtracks and a cell-phone shaped purple remote. Plus, girls can transport saved games and transfer items, so it can easily be packed up and brought to a friend's house. . Create Your Own Character Summer break is here and you're a typical Bratz teenager with one goal -- to become a top fashion designer. The object of the game is to compete in fashion shows and attend hot runway events. Each new game starts with the creation of a cool Bratz character. First select your Bratz name, Zodiac sign, and then choose from 12 personality types. She can be sweet, sassy, sophisticated, or anything in between! The next step is to pick out physical traits and outfits. Select skin color, hair style, eye color, lip color, make-up, and then create a totally hip outfit. Once the Bratz character looks absolutely fabulous, it is time to select a bedroom style for her home screen. Then the real fun begins. As you gain popularity, you'll receive text messages about upcoming events, and if you score enough points, you might even make the cover of Bratz Magazine. Play Test More complex than other plug-in games, Bratz Life provides an endless source of entertainment. The game menu is simple to navigate and has loads of cute icons, including one that allows players to choose a music track. Girls can decorate their character's room, visit the juice bar to chat with friends, or take a trip to the salon for a makeover. Progress is recorded using meters, such as the Fashion Sense Meter and Popularity Meter. Although it is a near-perfect girl's toy, Bratz Life has one minor design flaw. Multiple players can play separate games and save them, but only one person can play at a time, which slightly takes away from the competitive element. Despite this minor inconvenience, Bratz Life provides hours of silly play, encourages imagination and creativity, and lets little fashionistas live out their wildest dreams.
The on-screen planner lets you keep track of your progress. |

Boring after a while... December 3, 2008 Sasha Merced (BAYAMON, PUERTO RICO Puerto Rico) The game is just the same thing repeating over and over. The missions include shopping and going to parties or hanging out at the mall, all with the purpose of impressing people and becoming popular. You need to get people to like you in order for them to be your friends, so it doesn't really teach anything good. It's actually kind of disappointing to little girls anytime they don't make friends with someone, I had to keep telling my daughter that it's ok if they don't befriend you. I wouldn't recommend it.
We liked it September 26, 2008 rthestarr (maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game for my step daughter last christmas. It is true that they do not offer a huge selection of clothing at first but as the game progresses there are more options and styles. I bought this game from amazon last christmas on sale and we have not had a problem with it at all. I did not pay much for it, but it was worth what i paid and my step daughter has had a good time with it.
Kinda lame actually! January 14, 2008 R. McBroom (El Paso, TX United States) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The remote doesn't work half the time, the graphics leave a lot to be desired and there aren't many choices for clothes and such. My daughter, who is a Bratz fanatic, was bored with it after about 10 minutes. Use your money for the B-Bratz or any other toy. This really is a waste of money. OH! I rated the durability as high cause it's getting used as a pull toy by my 1 yr old and it still works.
