Appa YIP YIP July 2, 2008 We love this show, it is a bed time ritual for us to all pile up and watch at least one if not two episodes. When I saw this toy I thought it would be great. IT WAS. My son is 3 and we had to carry this everywhere we went after I brought it home for at least a week. It is a bit hard to push Aang down in to Appa but I dont mind doing it for my kid to see how excited he is to hear and see this toy work. I am sure as he gets older he will be able to do it himself, then he will really have fun with it... GREAT toy, wish they had more Avatar toys.
Good value for the money April 21, 2008 My children love Avatar. The size of the toy was unexpected, it is as big as my maltese, and they have used it everyday since Easter. (They received one each on Easter.) The one has a button that sticks, but is easily remedied through repeated pressings. I would buy this toy again.
Yip-yip February 25, 2008 My daughter likes this toy. Once we learned how to launch Aang, it was a great entertainment for both her and the cats.Aang flies a moderate distance, suitable for indoor flying, and is durable enough to survive at least one person stepping on it. The flyer shows signs of wear and the cats would love to play with it more often.
The downsides I see are that you have to have the Sound effects on in order to launch it, and the instructions were entirely inadequate. It sat on the shelf unused for several months because we simply didn't know to push down harder on the flying part of it. Loading Aang does involve pushing against a strong spring in an area that looks like it won't work.
It's more educational than I would have expected as well, teaching angular momentum and the basics of ballistic trajectory.
parent of twin boys January 18, 2008 This toy is amazing. My 4 year old twin boys have mastered puttin Aang into the launching hole. I am shocked by some of the other revies of kids not being able to master the launching of Aang. This toy has given my boys hours and hours of enjoyment since they got it for Christmas.
yip yip!~ January 3, 2008 My son received Appa and Aang as a Christmas gift, and he was extremely excited about this gift as he enjoys the cartoons immensely, and has even gotten the rest of us to enjoy the series. He enjoys the toy, but sometimes is a little difficult to align the Aang character into the slot for him, so other than the occasional frustration he enjoys this toy. We've even used it as a tool to help with eye hand coordination, teaching him to try to catch Aang, as he he soft enough not to hurt him.
