Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Monsters vs. Aliens the offical Movie adaptation   May 12, 2009
Paul Jutras (Florida, USA)
The good thing about this movie adaption is that one can read it without having the ending ruin for you. Just as Dreamworks Bee Movie DVD had alternate endings in the deleted area the movie adaptation seem to use an different ending that appear in the actual movie. A wonderful movie comic that is a delight for both the young and young and heart

5 out of 5 stars Monsters vs. Aliens in Graphic Novel form   April 10, 2009
Brimful Curiosities (WI)
This sturdy paperback book features the Monsters vs. Aliens movie plot in graphic novel form. The story begins as Susan Murphy prepares for her wedding day and accidently gets hit by a meteor that turns her into the five stories tall, 23,632 pound monstrosity, Ginormica. Imprisoned in a secret government facility, she befriends other "monsters" named Dr. Cockroach, B.O.B., Link and Insectosaurus. When an evil alien named Gallaxhar attacks earth, she and her new friends are released to save the world. The graphic novel slant works well for telling this action-packed adventure story full of terms like KA-ZZZAPP and THRAABOOOOM! I enjoyed the humor involved, too, from the President attempting to make first contact with the aliens by jiving on an electric keyboard to the ridiculous kitty decor in the prison cell. With a female super-hero the book should appeal to both girls and boys.

5 out of 5 stars Beware Gallahxar!   March 27, 2009

From Titan Books' new line of graphic novels/licensed properties the blockbuster film, Monsters Vs Aliens comes out of the government prison into your living room!

This is the Men in Black, redux with a twist that points directly at Looney Toons and iconic comic book origins. Consider, the origin of Spiderman for instance. A spider wanders into a radioactive beam and is charged, bites Peter Parker, then dies. This time, the boy sues the laboratory, and the insect is captured. Insectosaurus is not a good guy, er bug this time. B.O.B. (Benzoate Ostelyze Bicarbonate) is a mutated fake food that used to look like a tomato. The Missing Link is a rejuvenated beach bum reptile who still likes reclining on the beach. Dr Cockroach is a slighted scientist who turned his own research onto himself, and is transformed into a cockroach! The normal one, Ginormica, was a lovely bride waiting for her wedding day until she absorbed galactic radiation and grew to 50 feet or so. Surprisingly, her clothes still fit! The evil Gallaxhar attacks earth, and this team of mighty misfits is the only defence.

The book is great, and Lanning fills the book with sarcasm, humor, with, and an easy flowing style suitable for all reading levels, even for politicians.

March 27th, the invasion begins!
